If you like meeting people and making them feel welcome, then the Evangelism Committee is just the spot for you. Remember what it's like to walk into a room full of people that you don't know? You feel somewhat awkward until someone breaks the ice and says hello. Once the ice is broken, those strangers are simply the "friends that you haven't met yet."

The Evangelism Committee is the church's ice breaker, and we're always looking for folks who will help us make others feel welcome. We offer a variety of ministries to welcome newcomers to our congregation, as well as reach out to those who may have drifted away spiritually or physically.

The Evangelism Committee coordinates the following ministries:

  1. Adopt an Inactive Member or Youth Member.
  2. Bring a Friend.
  3. Caring Community Program: coordinates outreach to smaller communities of church members for special events and disaster assistance.
  4. Evangelism Brochure: contains essential information about the church that should answer many of the questions that visitors and prospective members have about our fellowship.
  5. Evangelism Events: invites guest speakers; plans events for new members; develops ways to reach out to newcomers, as well as those who may have drifted away from the church spiritually or physically.
  6. Greeters: coordinates members to serve as church greeters for both services each Sunday morning.
  7. Greeting Cards: sends greeting cards to members for events such as births, baptisms, graduation, marriage, sickness and sympathy.
  8. Hospitality Visitor's Program: involves making bread and delivering it to those who visit our congregation.
  9. Inquirer's Class: helps the pastors coordinate a class for those who may wish to join the church.
  10. Pictorial Directory: makes arrangements for a church pictorial directory every few years.
  11. Potluck Dinner and Hymn Sing: provides an opportunity to visit with those who attend the "other" service, meet new people, and bring a friend, neighbor, or acquaintance to church.
  12. Publicity: The Publicity Committee publicizes the events of the congregation in order to offer worship and fellowship opportunities to congregation members and to the community at large. Some of our activities include preparing posters and taking digital photographs.
  13. Shepherds for New Members: pairs current members of the congregation with newcomers to help them learn more about the church, its members, and its ministries.
  14. Talent Show and Dinner: coordinates a yearly talent show and dinner for the congregation in conjunction with Family Life Council.
