Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a program of our congregation that equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and in the community. Contact Pastor Larry Holmes for more information about this Ministry at (919) 828-1687.

Please think and pray about your call to this vital ministry which provides one-on-one care to fellow Christians who are in need of support as they experience life crises. We invite you to contact one of us if you would like to receive an application packet and/or desire more information about Stephen Ministry. We look forward to hearing from you!

Caring Communities

Jesus said: "If you have love for one another, then everyone will know that you are my disciples." (John 13:35) The evangelical task is to enable people to be connected with Jesus Christ. A significant way to do that is to be connected to each other. The Caring Community program, a network of geographically organized groups of Holy Trinity members, was developed by the Evangelism Committee in the spring of 1992 to strengthen our connectedness with each other through Christ.

Caring Communities provide an organized structure where mutual ministry can happen. Knowing who your neighbors are and where they live is the first step to being Christ for each other as we are directed to do. Caring Community programs seek to:

  • foster communications and relationships within communities and with the church,
  • form internal concern groups for support, celebration and fellowship,
  • distribute relevant information about the church, and
  • welcome prospective and new members within the area.

Campus Ministry

Located just two blocks from North Carolina State University Holy Trinity houses the Raleigh campus ministry, with a  full-time campus pastor, Beverly Alexander, for Lutheran faculty, staff and students of area colleges and universities. The primary objective of the ministry is to faithfully proclaim the Word of God within the context of the academic community. Students attending area colleges are encouraged to consider Holy Trinity a "home congregation away from home" and to become involved in all phases of the life of the congregation.

Lutheran Student Movement (LSM) is a great way to meet new people in a Christian environment. LSM-Raleigh serves the campuses of NC State, Meredith College, Peace College, and Wake Technical Community College . We meet at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church LSM Student Center, located downstairs, on Wednesday nights at 5:30 p.m. for worship and 6:00 p.m. for meals.
