The Music of Holy Trinity

Shannon Thomas, Director of Music

When in our music God is glorified,
and adoration leaves no room for pride,
it is as though the whole creation cried:
Alleluia!

Shannon Thomas

Let every instrument be tuned for praise;
let all rejoice who have a voice to raise;
and may God give us faith to sing always:
Alleluia!

– ELW 851, verses 1 & 5; Text: Fred Pratt Green.

We lift our voices in prayer and praise! Congregational singing is an important element of our music ministry at Holy Trinity. Supporting and enhancing the congregation are a variety of musical groups.

Holy Trinity Chancel Choir: The Chancel Choir sings weekly at the 11:00 a.m. worship service, except for the month of July, and provides anthems for most special evening services. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. at the church. New voices are always welcome! Although the ability to read music is helpful, it is not essential. If you can carry a tune and enjoy singing, give us a try! Singers new to choral singing are invited to join the choir for rehearsals for several weeks before participating in the Sunday anthem.

Adoramus, the Holy Trinity Quartet:

Clifford Brock on the Organ:

We encourage and appreciate musical initiative at Holy Trinity. Several vocal ensembles sing on occasion: The Fab Five (men's barbershop quintet), Unaccompanied Women (women's barbershop quartet), and Adoramus (a capella mixed quartet). There's always room for more. If you have an idea for a group, please contact Shannon Thomas.
