CROP Walk
Members of Holy Trinity have been actively participating in CROP Walk for over 20 years. On the first Sunday in October we join members of the Raleigh community and many others across the nation. We walk to raise funds for world hunger. Volunteer walkers seek sponsors who donate money to support their effort.
CROP Walks support indigenous organizations in over 80 nations around the world in their efforts to address the root causes of poverty and hunger. One quarter of the funds raised in Raleigh are returned to local area organizations including the Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, The Shepherds Table, and the Raleigh Rescue Mission.
For more information, contact Al Riordan at (919) 851-8476.

African Outreach Ministries
The mission of the African Outreach Ministry (AOM) is to reach out with Christ-like arms to welcome our African brothers and sisters to the community of Raleigh and the family of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in a manner that makes them feel valued and nourished in their spiritual, social, and physical needs. Programs supported through this ministry include:
- Assisting individuals in securing immigration status to reside in the US and reunite their families
- Offering workshops on resume writing, job searching, completing income tax forms, and other topics that enable individuals and families to secure adequate employment and become active members of their new community
- Nurturing children by providing school supplies, sponsoring participation in extracurricular school programs and summer camps, and assisting parents in utilizing community resources available to their families
- Providing computer training, tutoring, and a central location for workshops at the African Outreach Resource Center
- Supporting the training and education of seminarians
In accord with the ELCA mission for diversity and HTELC’s commitment to be a welcoming church, we seek avenues that enable our African brothers and sisters to tell their stories within our church family and in the larger community with an underlying awareness that we will all be enriched by the sharing and deepening of faith that grows from seeing the Lord’s work in bringing us together.
We welcome volunteers to lead life and job skills workshops; provide tutoring to children, young adults, and adults; and serve as cultural ambassadors to connect families to resources in our community. Please email to the address below to find out how you can be part of this ministry.

Rex Blood Plan
Holy Trinity Lutheran is a group member of the Rex Blood Plan, which is a blood bank, associated with Rex Hospital (and a member of the American Association of Blood Banks). As a group member of the Blood Plan all members of Holy Trinity who need to receive blood while at Rex Hospital can do so without having to pay the replacement costs of that blood. That's because some members of Holy Trinity have donated blood to the Blood Plan on behalf of Holy Trinity.
If you would be willing to donate blood for your church (and your community), it's easy to do. You need to be over 17 years old, weigh more than 110 pounds, and be in good health. It only takes about 45 minutes from start to finish to donate.
The Rex Blood Plan is located at 2709 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 150, in the Blue Ridge Medical Center II building.
If you would like to make an appointment or have any questions, please call 784-4750.
Your support of the Rex Blood Plan benefits your church and your community and is deeply appreciated by all of us at Holy Trinity – please prayerfully consider this ministry.

Sing for Joy
For several years, Holy Trinity has sponsored the Sunday radio program "Sing for Joy" (7:30am on The Classical Station, WCPE, 89.7 FM with Rev. Bruce Benson). If you haven't listened in, you're missing a real treat. Each week, the program provides sacred music and commentary that illuminate the lessons for that Sunday. If you're looking for a unique way to prepare for worship, this is it!
