Stewardship Committee
John Russ, chair
Members: Jeremy Barefoot, Henry Behrmann, Bob Eargle,
Dan Gaugert, Bill Jordan, Beverly Jorgenson, Pastor Yount.
The Stewardship Committee evokes and promotes the expression of Christian faith in daily living and teaches the Christian use of time, talents, and money. We also impart knowledge of the congregation's local, national, and global ministries, and lead all church members to higher levels of proportionate giving for the Lord's work. That is a high-sounding description of the practical need to invite and encourage our membership to support the church with their monetary donations, and to participate in the many activities and committees of the church.

One of our primary responsibilities is to prepare the annual Stewardship Appeal. We have recently established more flexible ways for members to pledge and to give, including electronic funds transfer ("Simply Giving") and online credit card giving. Both of these make it possible for people to donate even if they are traveling or otherwise unable to be in church for worship on Sunday: DONATE
Additionally, throughout the year, we provide the congregation with Stewardship "reminders," including articles in Luthertidings and letters to church members. This year, one part of our effort has been the Stewardship Cross in the pavilion, which gradually filled with tokens representing acts of stewardship to family, church, community and the earth. The cross is not only beautiful, it will become an important reminder of our commitment to stewardship as we begin our 100th anniversary year.
We invite anyone with ideas about promoting involvement of time, talent and treasure to join the committee. We typically meet once a month for about an hour, and we need as many points of view and thinking minds as possible as we face problems that are not simple, requiring solutions that may not be simple. Please join us!
