Table Talk
In the story about the disciples who met Jesus on the road to Emmaus following Christ's resurrection (Luke 24:12-31), they did not recognize Jesus … until He broke the bread at the meal they shared at the end of their journey. Time at the table sharing ourselves with each other is one way we too can meet Jesus. Our Table Talk program is a time of worship, fellowship around a meal, and various activities. Table Talk is held the second Wednesday of the month. Worship begins at 5:45 p.m. The meal is at 6:05 p.m., and an activity will begin at 6:45 p.m. The event will end at 7:30 p.m.

The Social Ministry Committee is pleased to announce that the February 8 Table Talk will feature Beth Bordeaux of PLM-Families Together. This organization provides transitional housing and mentor advocacy for homeless families in Raleigh. Holy Trinity is proud to be one of the founding churches of this 30-year ministry, which has helped over 3,000 families achieve stable housing.
Many families arrive in this program with few personal possessions or household supplies. To that end, we are collecting household items to build welcome kits for those families. Our goal is to build as many welcome kits as possible (minimum of 20). Each kit contains the following items:
| 4 bars of soap - Lever 2000 or Dove | 2 bottles of liquid hand soap |
| 1 tube of toothpaste | 2 children's toothbrushes (individually packaged) |
| 2 adult toothbrushes (individually packaged) | 1 laundry detergent |
| 1 box trash bags (tall kitchen size) | 2 rolls paper towels |
| 1 bottle spray disinfectant | 4 rolls of toilet paper |
A receptacle is provided in the Kees Pavilion for the items. Whether or not you are planning to attend February Table Talk, please contribute to the welcome kits between now and February 8. And please try to join us for this important evening. This is an opportunity to learn more about and to support an significant ministry that HTELC founded.
The cost of the meal is $6.00. Please register your intention to attend at ttalkres@nc.rr.com. We look forward to sharing some Table Talk time with you.
